Another Sympathy Card...Ugh.
Well, I had to make another sympathy card and that is just crappy. Not only do I have to make it, but I also have to figure out how to convey my condolences which is even more of a challenge. I did it with this week's SCS SC, a slew of Basic Grey's Indian Summer and a Starving Artistamp stamp. I added ribbon and bling since I didn't bother framing my layers. All in all, a ten minute card which is good since who wants to spend a lot of time crafting these card types anyway?
Positive note of the day: My C is such a nut prancing around the house in just panties and screaming the song "Funhouse" by Pink all day. That and this version of Raffi's Apples and Bananas that she likes to sing to her little sister...

P.S. The sentiment and flourish are from Hero Arts.
Positive note of the day: Even though Ave is the smallest of my babies (we are talking 5th percentile whereas the other two were in the 95th percentile), she is probably my most adventurous. She loves playing chase with the kids (I hold her and either chase or am chased by the other two), spin and get thrown up in the air. It has gotten to the point that even taking her up the flight of stairs to her room has to be a jiggly run...the minute she knows we are headed up there, she looks at me as if to say "Make me giggle!". All I have to do is gallop up the stairs saying "jog, jog, jog", and she is a silly little nut.

LPS Monday - A Sketch
Yeppers, it's another sketch...woo hoo!Even though it's a baby set, I love the little deer in {Little One} for Christmas cards. I used Eskimo Kisses DP and alphabet stickers to create this one along with a ribbon slide (see the little tree down there?) from my gal pal Jan.
Should you want to participate in our 41st challenge (whoa!), go visit the LPS blog! (And remember, you don't need LPS stamps to play but there's always a chance to win some!)
Positive note of the day: Finished a gargantuan manual for a class that one of my colleagues is teaching today. I had to work most of the weekend (save the time at Andrea's shower) to get it done since I was nanny-less for four out of five days this week. An eighty slide presentation and 120 page document is a lot to choke out over a couple days but I am glad I got it done in time for the instructor to preview. Back in the day when I was an instructor, I would have been a wreck had I not a lot of prep time...I have to assume that other instructors feel the same way. "Winging it" just ain't an option!

A Shower Journal
I made a shower journal for my BFF Andrea so people could write some advice or inspiring little notes for her to read when she is going through the fun that is newfound motherhood.
Some of the quotes I included are:
Journalling templates: Printable Paper.
Question: Does anyone have a online connection for clear book binding tape? I love making these books but I need to add the tape so that the spine stays intact! Thanks in advance!
Positive note of the day: Had fun at Andrea's shower yesterday. Her mom and sister put so much effort into it which was great. So many times I have been disheartened when I play co-hostess (this time in a very limited role!) and the other participant(s) just don't have their heart in it to make the effort. Yes, I am a little bit of a perfectionist (gotta nip that in the bud...at least I went to M&Ms this time instead of killing myself trying to make everything!) but I just want the event to be memorable. Sometimes life gives you very few moments of bliss where the focus can be on you or a loved one...when it is, I think everything should sparkle!

Some of the quotes I included are:
- Call your girlfriends to complain...misery loves company.
- Don't stand when you can sit. Don't sit when you can lie down. Don't stay awake if you can be asleep.
- Breastfeeding is not a prophylactic!
- Never wake a sleeping baby...if they are hungry, they will wake up.
- As a newborn, always assume the baby is hungry.
- For the first three months, do whatever you have to do in order to keep yourself sane.

Quick Gift Card
So it's one of my BFFs (Andrea's) baby shower today. I made this gift card holder with this cute dollar stamp I picked up last week from M's. (I wish I had more time to create something for this occasion but work has been a killer this week!)
Positive note of the day: Was able to spend about an hour alone with my boy yesterday after school. We played UNO and, for the first time, he was able to both gracefully win and lose. I have spent at least three to four years playing different games with him where he would either be "In your face!" if he won or playing the martyr ("I never win. I don't think I'll ever play again."). In some ways, it would have been a lot easier to not play with him but I am glad we are at a stage where I could enjoy playing a game with him as an equal. (Although he still can't seem to hold eight cards in his hand without having them flop all over the table!)

Another Blow the Dust Off Stamp Set
Hadn't pulled this one out in a while...really like the sweet images esp. paired with this paper pack that I found at the dollar store (score!).
Positive note of the day: Got the girls vaccinated for H1N1 this afternoon (thank gawd). Seriously did not want that weighing on my mind and thankfully was able to get in down at the Stampede grounds with very little wait (after the horror stories of previous weeks where lineups took forevah...not good with little ones!).
